After collaborating on several projects including 30 for 30 and the award-winning sound of NBA on ESPN, the ESPN team turned again to Made Music Studio to create the sound of their digital products.
We were challenged to create an iconic introductory sound for ESPN’s streaming content and app experiences. The opening sound would need to build anticipation for the premium sports programming only ESPN can provide.
We created a sonic expression that ushers ESPN into the digital age. The opening gesture grabs viewers’ attention, followed by a musical nod to the familiar SportsCenter theme, paying homage to the brand’s heritage. The new sound instantly elevates the home viewing experience beyond linear television. It can be heard on integrated TV apps, and is flexible enough to appear on every brand platform including ESPN.com, the ESPN app and social media.
